The Chief Executive Officer of Air Peace, Allen Onyema, has stated that the economy and attitudes of Nigerians are affecting flight prices.
He made this known in a recent interview on Channels TV.
Onyema said, “I’m going to the economics of the game. A situation where your country, your citizens, pay N3m for economy ticket to do a six hour flight, and Nigerians are not talking and people are not perturbed.
“Is that good enough? It’s not. It’s because our own airlines have not succeeded in doing those routes. Who is frustrating our airlines from doing those routes?”
He added that the price from Nigeria to other countries cost more than same flight from other African countries.
Onyema added, ” We charge Nigerians going to India N700,000 and Nigerians going to London for a total of 12-hour flight pay N3m for economy while people from Ghana and Lome are paying less.
“Until we begin to love ourselves in the country, both government officials, civil servants and Nigerians alike.”
