Victor Osimhen of Nigeria, a striker, has made a significant decision by removing posts about Napoli from his Instagram page.
The club was involved in a contentious incident in which they released and then took down a TikTok video “mocking” Osimhen after missing a key penalty.
According to the player’s agent, Roberto Calenda, Osimhen may file a lawsuit against Napoli after the Italian team aired a video “mocking” him on their official Tik Tok, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.
In a statement made public on Tuesday, Calenda referred to the video as reprehensible.
“What happened today on Napoli’s official TikTok profile is not acceptable,” the statement said. Initially made public, a video making fun of Victor has now been removed.
“A severe fact that causes the athlete extremely serious harm and worsens the treatment the boy has been receiving over the past few months as a result of media trials and fake news.
“We reserve the right to take any necessary steps to protect Victor, including legal action.”
