The deposition of Caleb Westberg, the registrar of Chicago State University, is one of the new pieces of evidence that Nigerian President Bola Tinubu is pleading with the Supreme Court not to accept from Atiku Abubakar.
According to Tinubu, the evidence should not be accepted because it is “alien” to the proceedings.
Tinubu’s CSU academic records are accessible to Abubakar, but neither an original nor a replacement certificate were ever given to him by the university.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is adamant about nullifying Tinubu’s election victory and is relying on section 137(j) of the constitution, which provides that no one is qualified to be president if they give the Independent National Electoral Commission a fake certificate.
