The Nigerian Supreme Court has decided that the February 2023 presidential election cannot be deemed void since the results are not accessible on the INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV).
The leader of the five-member Supreme Court justice panel, Justice Inyang Okoro, declared that the petition attempting to declare the election invalid due to noncompliance must be prepared to provide facts and demonstrate how the noncompliance impacted the election’s result.
According to Okoro, the petitioner had not submitted an original or certified true copy of the evidence, and they were required to present credible proof of the purported noncompliance.
