The former head of the Nigerian Human Rights Commission, Professor Chidi Odinkalu, has expressed concerns regarding the functionality of the Results Viewing (IReV) platform for the gubernatorial elections in Kogi, Imo, and Bayelsa States. He said that because INEC employees changed the password, it is now harder to get in.
“IMODecides2023 Update: I have just learnt from concerned workers that the Password to transmit results to IREV issued yesterday to LGA Supervisors in Imo for use by APO1s 2mrw have bn withdrawn without reason. New passwords have not bn issued. Expect IREV “malfunction” 2mrw,” Odinkalu said.
The IREV platform provides information to aid election transparency. By continuing to the result section, you agree to the Terms of Use as defined by INEC.
During the 2023 Presidential Election, the INEC’s failure to use the portal as promised generated a lot of controversies over the credibility of the poll that produced Bola Tinubu as the president.
These controversies were later resolved by the Supreme Court recently when the apex court held that failure to use IREV in an election does not invalidate the electioneering process in Nigeria.
