Three operatives of the Osun Security Network Agency, aka Amotekun, have sustained various degrees of injuries after a violent clash with herdsmen in the State.
Some farmers, agitated by the activities of herders at Kajola village in Atakunmosa East local government area, reported them to Amotekun operatives.
Upon sighting approaching Amotekun men, the herdsmen who were armed, fired shots at them. Amotekun operatives defended themselves, resulting in injuries on both sides.
The Corp Commander of Osun Amotekun, Bashir Adewinbi, confirmed that three of the operatives were injured during gun battles with the herders.
According to him: “Our men went to Kajola village to settle the rift between farmers and herders but when they went there, the herders attacked them and shot at them, our men had no other option than to reply to them.
“The Police were involved in the matter. We arrested one of them but we later released him. Those wounded are better now.”
