In 2015, Martin Duram and his wife Glenna Duram were found shot. Martin was shot five times while Glenna had a single shot to her head. By the times cops got there, Martin had died but Glenna lived. It was believed that they were both crime victims. Family members moved on and cops were looking for the shooter who shot both husband and wife.
The image attached to this post is Bud, an African grey parrot. He was Martin’s pet. After his death, his ex wife, Christina Keller took the pet parrot in. After a while, Christina started hearing the parrot repeat statements like “Don’t fcking shoot!” in Martin Durham’s voice and “You fcking white boy” in Glenna’s voice. She then decided to listen closely to the pareot one day. She heard what looked like a reenactment of the last argument Martin and Glenna had. It became obvious that Glenna shot her husband.
Christina took it up, involved Martin’s parents and the police. New investigation was opened and at the end, it was discovered that Glenna actually shot Martin 5 times before turning the gun to herself on a failed suicide attempt.
In 2017, Glenna was found guilty of first-degree murder after eight hours of deliberation by Newaygo County jury in Michigan. She was sentenced to life imprisonment on the 28th August, 2017.
Similar was the case of Neelam Sharma who was murdered in her home on 20th February, 2014. Her home was also robbed. Police found no lead at all. That was until the her parrot started shouting Sharma’s nephew’s name, Ashu. Vijay Sharma presented this to the police who took in Ashu. After grilling, he confessed to murdering Neelam with the help of his friend Ronnie Massey. It was this year (9 years later) that both guys were sentenced to life imprisonment.
