Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has requested an emergency hold on a recent order for his university records to be released, arguing that the damage he would suffer would be impossible to mitigate if the release is not delayed for possible vacation.
Tinubu’s lawyer argued that if the records are released, harm will be done and cannot be taken back to the bottle.
Chicago State University was ordered to release the documents to Atiku Abubakar, who plans to use the records to demonstrate Tinubu’s ineligibility for president.
The hearing seeks to stay the order before it goes into effect in about an hour. The case involves a subpoena application filed by Abubakar seeking to obtain Tinubu’s records.
