Abba Yusuf, the governor of Kano State, has promised to fight the decision of the governorship election tribunal that invalidated his election and named Nasiru Yusuf Gawauna, the APC candidate, as the victor.
In a broadcast to the state’s residents on Wednesday night, Yusuf made the announcement.
He claimed that in order to retrieve the mandate granted to him by the State’s citizens, his legal team had been instructed to file an appeal against the ruling before the court of appeal.
Therefore, he urged the state’s good residents to maintain their composure and continue to uphold the law, as security agents have been instructed to guarantee the safety of citizens’ lives and property.
He remarked, “Let me assure you that this government would continue to work for the state’s people’s development as the judgement will never dampen our spirit or cause us to give up on the good work we have started.”
After thanking the state’s residents for their ongoing support and cooperation, the governor advised them to carry on with their regular activities.
