MAKING NIGERIA WORK AGAIN AMIDST
HARDSHIP AND ECONOMIC CHALLENGES – WRITTEN BY NDUKA ANYANWU, SA, MEDIA TO THE APGA NATIONAL CHAIRMAN, BARRISTER SLY EZEOKENWA

The statement “A New Nigeria is Possible amidst Hardship and Economic Challenges” reflects the belief that positive
change and transformation are achievable even in the face of difficult circumstances. When made by APGA (All Progressives Grand Alliance) National Chairman, it likely signifies the party’s perspective on the potential for progress and development in Nigeria despite the prevailing hardships and economic challenges. “Making Nigeria work again” is a broad and complex goal, but there are some key areas that can contribute to the overall development and progress of the country: These include according to THE NATIONAL CHAIRMAN, APGA, BARRISTER SLY EZEOKENWA, these include but not limited to:

GOOD GOVERNANCE: Promote transparency, accountability, and the rule of law. Strengthen institutions, fight corruption, and ensure that public resources are managed effectively and
efficiently.

ECONOMIC DIVERSIFICATION: Reduce dependence on oil by diversifying the economy into sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, technology, and services. Encourage entrepreneurship, attract foreign investment, and create an enabling environment for business growth. This is one of the most crucial engagements that can fast track the re-birth of a new Nigeria Nation.

INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT: Invest in critical infrastructure such as roads, railways, airports, and power generation to support economic activities and improve the quality of life for citizens. Develop and maintain infrastructure that facilitates trade, connectivity, and access to basic services.

EDUCATION AND SKILL DEVELOPMENT: Prioritize quality education and skills training to equip the workforce with the knowledge and skills needed for a competitive global economy. Promote vocational training, entrepreneurship programs, and lifelong learning opportunities.

JOB CREATION: Implement policies and initiatives that stimulate job creation, particularly for the youth. Support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), encourage innovation, and create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive and expand. This can come in so many forms, ensuring that the SME’s have access to contracting jobs, productions, creativity, etc.

SOCIAL WELFARE AND POVERTY ALLEVIATION: Develop social safety nets and programs that address poverty, inequality, and improve the standard of living for vulnerable populations. Focus
on healthcare, housing, social security, and access to basic services. This in turn wil boast security and enabling environment for economic growth.

SECURITY AND STABILITY: Ensure the safety and security of citizens by addressing insecurity challenges, including terrorism, banditry, and communal conflicts. Strengthen law enforcement agencies, invest in intelligence gathering, and promote community policing. When we have as itemized above, especially job security and economic revolutions, security will gradually be restored in our Nation.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT: Implement environmentally sustainable practices to mitigate the impact of climate change, protect natural resources, and promote renewable energy sources.

INFRASTRUCTURE MAINTENANCE: This happens to be one of the most neglected in recent past, successive government never see these as a route to building a New Nigeria culture. There is need
to Prioritize the maintenance and rehabilitation of existing infrastructure to ensure their longevity and functionality.

STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT AND PARTICIPATION: Foster an inclusive and participatory governance framework that involves citizens, civil society organizations, and the private sector in
decision-making processes and policy formulation. – this devoid of any form of political inclination. All are expected to be carried along to foster the emergence of the New Nigeria. The ruling party
need all to revolutionized/revamp the progress of the Nigeria State.

It’s important to note that achieving these goals requires A LONG-TERM AND MULTIFACETED APPROACH, with the commitment and collaboration of all stakeholders, including the government, private sector, civil society, and citizens.

Signed:
For and on-behalf of Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa,
APGA National Chairman
