Azeez Isa, 43, was detained for attempting to rob a new generation bank in the Oko Oba neighbourhood of Lagos State, which is directly across from Maplewood Estate.It was learned that the suspect committed the crime early on Sunday.
Isa was apprehended carrying a sledgehammer, which he allegedly used to smash the bank’s security door while attempting to enter.
According to the source, who requested anonymity, “The bank’s security guards heard the sound of someone smashing something early in the morning.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident. “They traced the sound and found a man using a heavy object to hit the security door. He continued to strike the door continually without minding that the sound could attract the attention of those who were nearby.”
