In 112 local government areas and 28 states, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) has recorded 1,068 Lassa fever infections.
Ondo, Edo, and Bauchi reported the bulk of instances. At least 181 people have died as a result of the 7,352 suspected cases that are currently present.

The infection’s case-fatality ratio is 16.9%, which is lower than the CFR for the same time period in 2022 (19.1%). Male to female ratio is 1:0.9, with the most affected age group being 21 to 30.

To coordinate response efforts, the NCDC has activated the National Lassa Fever Multi-Partner, Multi-Sectoral Emergency Operations Centre.
