The governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, has disclosed that during a raid at the Lokpanta Cattle Market in the Umunneochi axis of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Motorway, security personnel found 50 decaying corpses and many skeletons.
It was also discovered that kidnappers used the market as a location to collect ransom payments. Otti pledged to safeguard the lives and belongings of both state citizens and tourists, and he intended to modernise the market’s and its host community’s security framework. He clarified that the state’s decision to convert the market into a daily market was not intended to disparage any specific tribe, but rather to update the market’s security infrastructure and that of its host community.
Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide urged the cattle market’s northern leaders to work with Otti to fetch out criminalities.
