Hyde Kalu, an APC youth leader, has urged former vice president of Nigeria and PDP presidential contender Atiku Abubakar to withdraw his lawsuit challenging President Bola Tinubu’s eligibility to receive an education in the United States.

The call, according to the APC youth leader in Abia State, is required “because the matter is already drawing unfavourable attention to Nigeria throughout the world, and Atiku should spare the country this embarrassment.”

In a press release distributed to the press on Monday, Kalu stated that “it is quite unfortunate that the pride of Nigeria has been dragged to a point of ridicule in the comity of nations.”

In order to allow the Nigerian judiciary to resolve the post-election issue coming from the 2023 presidential election, he begs Atiku to end the litigation in the United States.

It is undeniable that Atiku loves Nigeria; he is a statesman, the speaker declared. No Nigerian, I’m sure, is thrilled with how our nation has been mocked because of the court decision in the United States.

“It is important that we beg Atiku to drop that case and not allow us to wash our dirty linen in public. This is for the love of this country and to spare Nigerians the shame of how this process may end.”We are all patriots, and I think we can handle this situation honourably and spare Nigerians the humiliation of this upcoming scandal.

“A president has been elected after the election has ended. Because Atiku and President Tinubu are friends and because we are all human, I am begging with him to drop the case in America for the benefit of the nation, Kalu stated.

Remember that President Tinubu filed an emergency appeal to the decision after Judge Jeffrey Gilbert of a Chicago Magistrate Court ordered the Chicago State University to testify under oath in a discovery of the president’s academic records at the university, citing “severe and irreparable damage” to him if the order of the magistrate court was granted.

President Tinubu was declared the victor of the February 25 presidential election, but Atiku is appealing that decision on the basis that Tinubu falsified the record of his academic accomplishments that was provided to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
