Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu, was criticised by some Nigerians for using a presidential jet for a private trip to Kano State to witness a polo match. This is happening at a time when jet fuel prices are at an all-time high.

Polo is a horse-mounted ball game, a traditional field activity, and one of the oldest team sports in history. However, polo is only practised in Nigeria by the wealthy and members of the ruling elite.

Seyi and his pals travelled to Kano on Sunday to see a polo match, and when they arrived in the historic city, state government representatives greeted them.

Seyi Tinubu’s careless private travel on taxpayer money while struggling in Nigeria is similar to what happened in January 2020 when Hanan, the daughter of then-President Muhammadu Buhari, flew to Bauchi State for a private photography trip on a government jet.
