Cristiano Ronaldo, the captain of Portugal, will miss Monday’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Luxembourg due to a suspension.
In Friday’s 1-0 victory over Slovakia, the Al-Nassr forward was given a warning.
Ronaldo caught former Manchester United teammate Martin Dubravka in the face with a stray boot, and was extremely fortunate to avoid further punishment.
Ronaldo, however, was spared a red card after referee Glenn Nyberg decided to only issue a yellow.
As this is Ronaldo’s third caution of the European Championship qualifying season, he is currently suspended.
