No fewer than 33 people who were abducted in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State have been freed by the Joint Security Task Force operating in the LGA.
They were taken hostage a few days ago by gunmen who took them into the forest while demanding a ransom from the families. However, on the instruction of the LGA-born Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, the joint security taskforce engaged the bandits and secured the release of all the 33.
Mahmoud praised the security agencies for their prompt response to the situation that resulted in the victims’ release from captivity.
The Caretaker Chairman gave the 33 freed kidnapping victims his word that before taking any further action, they would all be examined by doctors to make sure they were in excellent condition.
