Soldiers from Operation Safe Haven in Southern Kaduna have detained one Lot Dauda for the murder of one Mrs. Dorathy Jonathan.
On Friday, September 1, Jonathan was killed at Afana village in the state’s Zango Kataf Local Government Area while going to get firewood.
This was announced in a message posted on the Nigerian Army’s official X account on Thursday.
Dauda testified, according to the statement, “that he approached Mrs. Dorathy while working on a farmland and wanted to get intimate forcefully with the victim, who put up a struggle leading to her gruesome murder.”
Additionally, it stated that Dauda was apprehended following a manhunt that was started by OPSH forces after they rapidly responded in response to accurate intelligence information. Dauda acknowledged to conducting the murder with an accomplice who is still at large.
The accomplice is still being sought, however the arrested suspect will be charged with a crime once the investigation is finished.
