Olayinka, also known as Ruger, has declared he won’t pursue legal action or take any further action against a man posing as him in Kenya.
A few days ago, a video that appeared to be of a “fake Ruger” playing at an event while posing as the real Ruger went viral. It is claimed that he has been doing this at several concerts.
The ‘Girlfriend’ singer revealed that he has no plans to pursue the imposter in a recent interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra while discussing the event.
Ruger, on the other hand, said he was happy for the Kenyan imitating him in the East African nation. The man, he claimed, is advertising his music.
“Man, I hope ‘Fake Ruger’ does well. I’m delighted for him. I won’t silence him. He’s getting paid well. Everyone needs to eat.
“My colleagues brought up the imposter, but I responded that the individual was only attempting to hustle. Because he doesn’t write his own songs and instead credits Ruger with writing them, he is in a sense advertising my songs.
They will stream those songs when they get home at the end of the day since he is singing my. The most significant factor is that. Everyone needs to calm down, Ruger urged.
